Seven Vehicle Thefts and Six Prostitution Arrests Reported in Baytown
Baytown police responded to a busy stretch of incidents over the past few days, including seven vehicle-related thefts and six arrests for prostitution between Sunday and Tuesday.
Two additional auto thefts were reported Tuesday — one in the 4100 block of East Freeway involving a black 2025 Cadillac XT5, and another in the 6500 block of Garth Road involving a vehicle valued at about $17,000. These follow five other vehicle thefts and break-ins reported earlier in the week from areas including Rollingbrook Drive, McPhail Road, Forest Hollow Drive, and Jarrod Way. Several of those reports also involved firearms stolen from inside vehicles. [See yesterday’s article below on the vehicle thefts.]
Also on Tuesday, police made six prostitution arrests in the 5200 block of East Freeway over a six- to seven-hour span. The women arrested were ages 19, 26, 29, 36, 37, and 45, and two of the cases included drug-related charges involving crack cocaine.

New Baytown Project Turns Waste
Into Fuel for Airplanes
Something exciting is happening right here in Baytown that could help change the way airplanes are powered. Houston American Energy Corp., along with its partner Abundia Global Impact Group, is working on a new project that will turn wood waste into clean fuel — called Sustainable Aviation Fuel, or SAF.
The project will take place at the company’s Cedar Port Industrial Park site in Baytown, where engineers will test new technology that transforms leftover wood and other plant waste into a liquid fuel that can replace traditional jet fuel. The process is designed by BTG Bioliquids, a company from the Netherlands that specializes in this kind of renewable energy.
The new Baytown facility will serve as a testing and demonstration site, showing how waste materials can be turned into useful, low-carbon fuels that could someday power airplanes and reduce pollution. If successful, it could lead to larger plants and new clean-energy jobs in the area.
“This is an important step forward for us,” said Ed Gillespie, CEO of Houston American Energy. “By working with BTG Bioliquids, we can turn waste that would normally be thrown away into fuel that helps cut emissions.”
For Baytown, this project means more than innovation — it highlights the city’s growing role as a center for next-generation energy development. With companies like Houston American Energy investing in renewable fuel technology, Baytown continues to build its reputation as part of the solution to the world’s energy challenges.

Five Vehicle Thefts Reported
in Baytown Within 24 Hours
Baytown police are investigating a string of vehicle-related thefts that occurred across the city within roughly 24 hours, underscoring the importance of keeping vehicles locked and valuables secured — especially overnight or when parked on the street.
Between Sunday evening, Oct. 19th, and Monday, Oct. 20, officers responded to five separate reports involving stolen vehicles and break-ins across several neighborhoods and business areas.
Incidents were reported on Rollingbrook Drive, Garth Road, Forest Hollow Drive, McPhail Road, and Jarrod Way. In two of the cases, firearms were stolen from inside vehicles, while three others involved the theft of entire pickup trucks — including a black 2020 Chevrolet Silverado taken from a business on Garth Road and a white 2020 GMC Sierra with distinct custom wheels and a “Sons of Liberty Gun Club” decal.
No injuries were reported, and detectives are working to identify suspects and recover the stolen property.
Remember to:
👉 Always lock vehicles, even when parked in driveways or on quiet streets.
👉 Remove firearms, keys, and valuables when leaving your vehicle unattended.
👉 Park in well-lit areas or near security cameras whenever possible.
👉 Report suspicious activity immediately by calling the non-emergency line or 911.
Vehicle break-ins and thefts often happen in just seconds, police say, and a few precautions can make a major difference in deterring criminals.
