HUSA to Break Ground on
Cedar Port Plastics
Recycling Facility
Houston American Energy Corp. (HUSA), together with Abundia Global Impact Group (AGIG), has selected Corvus Construction Company, Inc. as the design-build partner for the first phase at Cedar Port Industrial Park in Baytown. The scope covers the Abundia Innovation Center—a research-and-development hub for validating new renewable-energy technologies—and a plastics recycling facility intended to convert plastic waste into renewable fuels and chemical products.
Under a design-build agreement, Corvus will deliver a state-of-the-art R&D facility alongside an energy-efficient office and innovation hub, emphasizing sustainable building practices in collaboration with Powers Brown Architecture. Company leaders cited Corvus’s reputation for quality, on-time delivery, and shared commitment to innovation as key reasons for the selection.
Why it matters: The project positions Baytown for continued growth in low-carbon and circular-economy industries, with phase one laying the groundwork for future expansion at Cedar Port.
What’s next: Groundbreaking is targeted for Q4 2025, following HUSA’s July property acquisition at Cedar Port.

Deaf Awareness Month
Recognized Locally and
by State of Texas
September 2025 is officially Deaf Awareness Month—thanks to the tireless efforts of Dennis Voris, a passionate advocate for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
Voris worked diligently to secure proclamations not only from the Governor of Texas, but also from Baytown Mayor Charles Johnson, the City of Mont Belvieu, and the Chambers County Commissioners Court, recognizing the importance of awareness and inclusion.
His commitment doesn’t stop there. He organized and runs four monthly community events across Baytown, Mont Belvieu, East Houston, and Pasadena, creating opportunities for connection, education, and celebration within the deaf community.
