Suspect Arrested in Capital
Murder of Parents in Crosby

🚨 UPDATE: The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported on Sunday, Aug. 17th, that members of its Violent Crime Apprehension Team located and arrested Christopher Leman Jr., 47, without incident. He was booked into the Harris County Jail on a capital murder charge in connection with the deaths of his parents, Christopher Leman Sr., 75, and Mary Leman, 73.

Authorities say the case began on July 11, 2025, when deputies responded to a welfare check at the family’s home in the 10500 block of Crosby Lynchburg Road. Both victims were found inside suffering from severe injuries. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and multiple media reports, Mr. Leman Sr. was pronounced dead at the scene, while Mrs. Leman was flown by Life Flight to a hospital, where she died two days later on July 13.

Detectives processed the scene, collected evidence, and followed investigative leads that identified Leman Jr. as the suspect. Sheriff Gonzalez initially stated that Mrs. Leman had been shot but later clarified her injuries were from “some kind of cut on her head,” not gunfire.

Community Shock and Past Allegations

Before his arrest, HCSO described Leman Jr. as a “threat to the community.”

Court records reviewed by local media also show Leman Jr. faced a separate case in July involving harassment and threatening phone calls to a woman. On the same day his parents were found, he allegedly contacted her and described attempting to purchase ammunition and other items. He was later detained and, according to records, made additional threats from a mental health facility a week later.

Professional Background

Publicly available information on Leman’s LinkedIn profile states that he graduated from Crosby High School in 1995 as class valedictorian, later earning a mechanical engineering degree from Rice University in 2000. He lists more than 25 years of experience in the medical device, aerospace, and offshore oilfield service sectors.

What’s Next

At this time, investigators have not released a motive in the case. Leman Jr. remains in the Harris County Jail facing a capital murder charge.

📞 Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the HCSO Homicide Unit at (713) 274-9100 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).

19-Year-Old Arrested After Teen
Stabbed at Crosby House Party

A house party in Crosby turned violent overnight into early Saturday morning, leaving a 17-year-old critically injured and another teen behind bars.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the party took place in the 500 block of Sundown Meadow Street, where a fight broke out among teenagers who had been drinking alcohol. During the fight, a 17-year-old was severely stabbed. The teen was flown by Life Flight to the hospital in critical condition and underwent surgery. Authorities now say the victim’s condition has been upgraded to stable, but still serious.

Deputies arrested 19-year-old Francisco Flores in connection with the stabbing. Flores has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in the Harris County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.

Court records show Flores was already out on bond for another aggravated assault case filed last November, when he was accused of threatening a 17-year-old with a gun.

Authorities have not released the name of the stabbing victim, and investigators have not said what led up to the fight or whether others may have been involved.
