Elderly Man Killed, Wife Hurt
in Mysterious East Harris County Case

An investigation is underway in East Harris County after deputies discovered a man dead and a woman injured during a welfare check on Crosby-Lynchburg Road.

Authorities were dispatched to the residence in the 10500 block on Friday afternoon around 5:30 pm after a family member reported being unable to reach the couple, both in their mid-70s. Upon arrival, Harris County Sheriff's deputies found the man deceased from a gunshot wound inside the home.

The woman, who was also located at the scene, was airlifted to a hospital. Although initial reports suggested she had sustained a gunshot wound, doctors later determined she suffered a head laceration instead. She is currently hospitalized and expected to recover.

Officials say no suspect has been identified, and the circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear. Investigators are exploring the possibility of foul play.

Due to the home's location in a densely wooded area, authorities anticipate difficulties in gathering surveillance footage. However, deputies plan to reach out to neighbors in hopes of finding video evidence that could assist in the case.

The investigation remains active as law enforcement continues to gather information and piece together the events leading to the man's death.

San Jacinto Marketplace Unveils
Major Retail Lineup

Baytown area residents have been waiting—and wondering—for years about what would finally fill the long-vacant space along I-10. Now, the wait is finally over. In a presentation to City Council yesterday [Thurs. July 10th], Fidelis Realty Partners revealed exciting new details about the upcoming San Jacinto Marketplace, a major retail development that’s set to transform shopping and dining in the Baytown area.

Headlining the project is a brand-new Sam’s Club, and it’s not just any Sam’s Club—it will be the first of its kind in Texas. This next-generation store will span an impressive 170,000 square feet, making it the largest lease Fidelis has ever signed. Sam’s Club is projected to open by next summer.
