Baytown Firefighters Quickly
Control Chemical Blaze
at Raven Butene Facility
At approximately 3:15 p.m. yesterday [Wed. June 25th], Baytown Fire Department crews responded to a chemical fire that broke out underneath a hopper at the Arcanum Infrastructure Raven Butene 1 Site, located in the 9500 block of I-10 East Freeway. Fire suppression operations were initiated, and the fire was brought under control shortly after crews arrived. Firefighters remained on scene to monitor the incident area and ensure the chemicals did not reignite.
Air monitoring was conducted throughout the incident, with all readings returning clear. No shelter-in-place was issued. No injuries were reported during the fire response.
Earlier in the day, around 2:15 p.m., Baytown crews responded to a chemical burn injury at the same facility. The injured individual was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in downtown Houston for treatment.
Following an investigation by the Baytown Fire Marshal’s Office, it was determined that the fire was caused by a chemical reaction involving material left behind during the event that resulted in the earlier burn injury.

♻Thanks to Residents and Crews,
Baytown Keeps It Clean🗑
Baytown collected over 32,000 tons of trash last year and served more than 20,000 collection customers. About 13% of that trash was recycled, thanks to resident participation and hard-working crews. FYI - Dollar Tree Prices Set to Rise Starting Friday
Starting Friday, June 27, Dollar Tree will begin raising prices on its $1.25 items in the plastic goods and cleaning products categories, with the prices increasing to $1.50 or $1.75. The price hikes will roll out across other product categories in the coming weeks.
Shoppers have already noticed some shelf tags reflecting the new prices—particularly on plastic goods and cleaning supplies—though those items may still ring up at $1.25 until the change officially takes effect.
