Good Morning and Happy Wednesday! ☀️

It's October 21st, and today we're going Back to the Future! 🚗⚡

On this date in the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part II, Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled all the way to October 21, 2015. Hard to believe that the "future" they visited is now 11 years in our past! Where's that flying car we were promised?

And if time travel makes you hungry, you're in luck! Today is also International Nacho Day! 🧀🌶️ Legend has it that nachos were invented in 1943 by Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya in Mexico. Now that's one invention we're glad made it into the future!

So grab some nachos, enjoy a little nostalgia, and make the most of today. No DeLorean required!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Baytown Woman's Years of
Concerns Over Leaning Power
Poles Finally Get Attention

For years, 81-year-old Joyce Pennington has worried about leaning power poles along Goss Road in Baytown, including one in her front yard.

Pennington, who has lived in the neighborhood for 50 years, says she and her neighbors have repeatedly contacted CenterPoint Energy about the poles without getting results.

After a local television station contacted CenterPoint on Monday, October 19th, crews arrived to inspect the poles. The company says it is assessing whether additional action is needed.

Watch the video below to hear Pennington's story and see the conditions that have concerned residents.

Roadwork Update: What's Happening in Chambers and Liberty Counties?

Several road improvement projects are underway across Chambers and Liberty counties, including intersection upgrades, highway resurfacing, and a new railroad overpass. Here's the latest from TxDOT:

Chambers County

Highway 146 at I-10: Pavement work continues on a project to add dual left-turn lanes and improve traffic flow. Completion is expected in fall 2027.

FM 565: Maintenance crews will be making roadway repairs. A separate project adding LED warning signs and flashing chevrons near Mont Belvieu and Baytown is expected to finish this fall. No lane closures are currently scheduled for the sign project.

Liberty County

Highway 90 in Dayton: Construction continues on the new overpass at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing just east of Highway 146. The $30 million project is expected to be completed in early 2028.

Highway 90 Resurfacing: Paving is complete on the stretch from the Trinity River Bridge toward Highway 146. The overall project is expected to wrap up in late 2026.
