Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! ☀️🐔🧇
It's October 20th, and today we're celebrating National Chicken and Waffles Day! That's right, crispy fried chicken and fluffy waffles together on one plate. Whoever first thought of that combination deserves a round of applause!
And here's a little fun fact! On this day in 1962, Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their spooky hit Monster Mash. More than 60 years later, it's still a favorite. As the song says, "It was a graveyard smash!"
So whether you're enjoying chicken and waffles or doing a little Monster Mash in the kitchen, we hope your Tuesday is a treat!
Have a terrific Tuesday!

Dayton ISD Bus Driver Arrested After Hit-and-Run Seriously Injures Student
A 14-year-old Dayton ISD student was critically injured Friday morning, October 16th, after being struck in a hit-and-run near U.S. Highway 90 and Stilson Road.
Dayton police arrested 70-year-old Ricky Eugene Cherry, a district bus driver, in connection with the incident. He was charged with collision causing serious bodily injury.
The injured student, identified by his father as Brantley, attends Woodrow Wilson Junior High School. His father said Saturday that Brantley had been airlifted to a hospital and was fighting for his life.
The investigation remains ongoing.

$82 Million Healthcare Startup
Growing up in Baytown, Havi Nguyen helped her Vietnamese immigrant family navigate the Medicaid system, handling paperwork and sometimes missing school to translate at medical appointments.
Those childhood experiences eventually helped inspire Abby Care, a healthcare company Nguyen founded in 2022. The company trains and pays eligible family members to care for loved ones at home through Medicaid-supported programs.
Now, Abby Care has announced $82 million in new funding to expand its services. The company currently operates in eight states and aims to help more families receive care at home while providing financial support to family caregivers.
It's a remarkable journey from helping her own family in the Baytown area to building a company attracting national attention.
