Two Baytown Residents Arrested
in Newton County UTV Theft Investigation

Two Baytown residents were arrested following an undercover investigation into the theft of two Polaris Ranger utility vehicles in Newton County.

According to Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard, the investigation began October 5th after two UTVs were reported stolen. One was later recovered, while investigators learned that someone was allegedly attempting to sell the second vehicle through a fake Facebook account.

Undercover officers arranged to purchase the stolen UTV and were led to its location in a wooded area. The suspects were subsequently stopped and arrested.

Kerison Zenas Durst and Leslie Hidalgo, both of Baytown, were arrested on charges of theft and engaging in organized criminal activity, according to the Sheriff's Office.
