We made it to Friday — and apparently we're supposed to celebrate with quesadillas and one-hit wonders. Honestly, we've had worse assignments. 😄
Today is National Quesadilla Day, so whether yours is stuffed with chicken, beef, veggies or simply lots and lots of melted cheese, you've got an excellent excuse to put one on today's menu.
It's also National One-Hit Wonder Day, celebrating those songs that came out of nowhere, got stuck in everybody's head…and then left us wondering, “Whatever happened to that group?” 🎶
You know the ones — you haven't heard the song in years, but somehow you still remember every single word when it comes on the radio.

Riceland Opens Lakehouse as
Mont Belvieu Town Center Takes Shape
The massive Riceland development in Mont Belvieu is beginning to look a little more like the community envisioned when plans were first announced.
The Lakehouse, Riceland's new 8,229-square-foot amenity center, is now complete. Overlooking a 10-acre stocked lake, the complex includes a resort-style pool, event lawn, playground, dog park, fitness center and indoor and outdoor gathering areas.
Meanwhile, construction is nearing completion on the Mill House, the first major commercial building within Riceland's developing Town Center. The nearly 17,000-square-foot building is planned for restaurant, retail and office space, with tenant announcements expected in the future.
Another piece, known as The Square, is also moving forward. Plans include an outdoor pavilion, pickleball courts, Wiffle ball fields and a playground, with groundbreaking expected this fall.
Riceland is a long-term, 1,500-acre master-planned development that will eventually include thousands of homes along with shopping, dining, recreation and community spaces.
🎉 Want to take a look? The Lakehouse will hold a free public grand opening Saturday, September 26th, from 1–4 p.m. at 12212 Valencia Blvd. Activities include a college football watch party, tailgate-style food, games, giveaways and tours of 12 model homes.

La Porte Industrial Property Changes Hands
A La Porte industrial property has a new owner as investment firm Alterra IOS continues expanding its holdings in the Houston area.
The company has acquired the property at 2801 and 2805 Sens Road, which includes approximately 2.3 acres and nearly 31,000 square feet of warehouse space.
The property, located near major industrial and transportation corridors including SH 146 and SH 225, is already fully leased to an international company providing occupational safety, testing, inspection and certification services.
The La Porte acquisition was one of four Houston-area industrial properties recently purchased by Alterra.
