Free Workshop Explains Baytown's
Planning & Permitting Process
Thinking about starting a business, developing property, or planning a construction project in Baytown? The City of Baytown and the Small Business Development Center are hosting a free workshop today, July 15th, to help participants better understand the city's planning and permitting process.
Attendees will hear directly from City staff, learn how projects move through the review process, and have an opportunity to ask questions about zoning, development requirements, and approvals.
The workshop will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in the Phyllis Davis Room, 909 Decker Drive.
Registration is available through the City of Baytown.
Take 10 Minutes This Week to
Help Fight Mosquitoes🦟
With the recent heavy rains, standing water can quickly become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. The good news is that it only takes about 10 minutes once a week to help make a difference.
Take a few minutes to empty standing water from buckets, flowerpots, toys, gutters, tires, tarps, pet bowls, and birdbaths. If everyone does their part, we can all help reduce mosquito populations and make our neighborhoods more enjoyable this summer.

Automotive Shop Planned
Along SH 146
Baytown City Council held a public hearing on the proposed annexation of nearly one acre at 8220 N. SH 146, where a small automotive business is planned.
The property is expected to seek General Commercial zoning as it continues through the city's development process before construction can move forward.
🏡 What This Means for Baytown
The project represents another small commercial development proposed along the SH 146 corridor, an area that continues to see new business investment.
👀 What's Next?
The property is expected to return to the Planning and Zoning Commission and later City Council for zoning consideration before development can proceed.
