Liberty County Pastor Arrested
on Child Sexual Abuse Charges
A Kenefick pastor has been arrested and charged with multiple felony offenses, including continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, following an investigation by the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. Authorities say 52-year-old George Finney was taken into custody Monday without incident, and bond was set at a total of $150,000.
Investigators have not released additional details about the allegations or identified any victims. The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

Summer Exhibition
The Baytown Area High School Mentor Show 2026 continues this summer at the Lee College Art Gallery, showcasing the creativity and talent of local student artists alongside the mentors who have helped inspire their artistic journeys. The exhibition features a variety of artwork and offers visitors a chance to see the unique perspectives and skills of the area's next generation of artists.
The exhibit will remain on display through Saturday, August 22nd, when the public is invited to attend a Closing Reception from 5 to 7 p.m.
Whether you're an art enthusiast or simply looking to support local students, it's a great opportunity to experience the creativity thriving in our community.

Soccer Fever Hits Baytown:
Youth Fall League
Registration Opens Soon
With soccer excitement sweeping across the Houston area thanks to the FIFA events, now is the perfect time for local kids to get in on the action!
Registration opens July 31st for Baytown Parks & Recreation's Youth Fall Soccer League, giving young athletes a chance to learn the game, build confidence, and have fun on the field.
The league is open to children ages 4 to 11 and costs $75 per player. The season runs from September 26th through October 31st at Baytown Soccer Park and includes a team jersey, weekly practices, Saturday games, and an end-of-season tournament.
Registration closes September 1st, so families are encouraged to sign up early. Baytown Parks & Recreation is also looking for volunteer coaches to help make this season a success.
Whether your child is kicking a soccer ball for the first time or returning for another season, it's a great opportunity to develop new skills, make friends, and be part of a team.

Goose Creek CISD Summer Meals
Return With Special Fire Truck Appearances
Goose Creek CISD Nutrition Services and ARAMARK Student Nutrition are offering free summer meals for children ages 1 to 18 at multiple schools, parks, libraries and community locations across Baytown and Highlands.
Families visiting Pelly Park can also catch a special visit from the Baytown Fire Department from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, July 6th, and Monday, July 13th.
No registration is required at park meal sites, and children do not have to be enrolled in summer school to receive meals at participating school locations.
