Recovered Bald Eagle Takes
Flight Again Near Anahuac
After months of treatment and rehabilitation, a bald eagle found injured near Anahuac has been released back into the wild.
The eagle was taken to the Houston SPCA Wildlife Center in March with a traumatic head injury and spent the past through medical care, rest and physical therapy before returning to its natural habitat on June 18th.
We’ve included the release video below — and it’s one of those feel-good moments that’s worth watching.

Ballet Folklórico Registration
Open for Ages 4 to 15
Families looking for a fun and active summer activity still have time to sign up for July or August Ballet Folklórico classes at the Community Center. Students will work on posture, footwork, skirt technique and traditional zapateado rhythm while building confidence, strength and teamwork along the way.
Classes are held Thursdays for ages 4 to 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. and ages 8 to 15 from 7 to 9 p.m., and the cost is $75 per month.

to Apply for Fall 2026 Scholarships
Students looking for help paying for college still have time to apply for Lee College Foundation scholarships for the Fall 2026 semester.
The application deadline is June 30th, and scholarships are available to support students as they work toward their educational goals.
