🌞 Good Morning, Neighbors!
Today's challenge is a tough one: it's both National Eat Your Vegetables Day 🥕 and National Root Beer Day 🥤. Do we start the day making healthy choices and loading up on veggies, or do we reward ourselves with an ice-cold root beer? Fortunately, we're pretty sure nobody made a rule saying you can't do both!
Whatever side of the debate you're on, we hope your Wednesday is filled with good food, plenty of smiles, and a few moments to enjoy the simple things.
Thanks for starting your morning with us, and have a wonderful day!

Today at Sterling Library:
Free Megalodon vs. T. rex Event
for Kids and Families
What happens when two of history's most legendary predators go head-to-head? Baytown families can find out today, Wednesday, June 17th, when the Houston Museum of Natural Science brings its popular "Megalodon vs. T. rex" program to Sterling Municipal Library.
This free family event runs from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and features a series of interactive presentations exploring the strengths, abilities, and fascinating history of these prehistoric giants. Along the way, visitors will also learn about some lesser-known creatures, including the bizarre Helicoprion shark, famous for its spiral, buzzsaw-like teeth.
Kids and adults will have the chance to see hands-on specimens and enjoy museum-quality exhibits and presentations without leaving Baytown. The program is designed to be fun, educational, and engaging for all ages, making it a great summer outing for families looking for something different to do.
Sessions repeat throughout the afternoon, so attendees can drop in when it's convenient. The event is made possible through an ExxonMobil grant supporting the library's Summer Reading programs.
Whether you're Team Megalodon, Team T. rex, or just love dinosaurs and sharks, Sterling Municipal Library is the place to be this afternoon.
The library is located at 1 Mary Wilbanks Avenue.

Sterling Library to Temporarily Move to Former San Jacinto Elementary
Sterling Municipal Library will temporarily relocate to the former San Jacinto Elementary School campus at 2615 Virginia Street while planning and future construction move forward for the ExxonMobil Baytown Events Center (EMBEC) and library renovation project. The move follows approval from both Goose Creek CISD and Baytown City Council.
City officials say the temporary location will allow library services to continue uninterrupted during the transition and future construction activities. The former school campus will be used for public library purposes while plans for the new events center and modernized library continue to advance.
According to the City of Baytown, additional details about the move, operating hours, available services, and the opening date of the temporary location will be announced as plans are finalized. Officials also emphasized that the Sterling Municipal Library will remain an important part of the community and the future EMBEC campus.

Help Shape the Future of the
ExxonMobil Baytown Events Center
The City of Baytown is continuing to gather community input on plans for the future ExxonMobil Baytown Events Center and Sterling Municipal Library and is encouraging residents to participate in an online survey.
The project aims to create a shared destination in Goose Creek Park that supports youth sports, expands educational opportunities, and provides new spaces for community events and activities. City officials have also released a video highlighting the vision for the project and explaining how residents can get involved.
If you haven't taken the survey yet, now is a great time to share your ideas. Community feedback will help guide the planning process and shape how these facilities serve Baytown residents for years to come.
