Gunfire at Baytown Youth Football
Event Leads to Felony Charges
A volunteer coach for a youth flag football team has been charged following a shooting at a Baytown sports complex Saturday.
Authorities say the incident occurred in the parking lot of Baytown Christian School, where youth sports activities were taking place. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute involving the coach, his ex-girlfriend, and her current boyfriend.
According to reports, shots were fired during an argument, and a nearby parent was injured when a bullet struck a vehicle, causing glass to shatter. Authorities said no life-threatening injuries were reported.
The coach, Nicholas Davis, faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. I-9 Sports confirmed he is no longer affiliated with the organization.
Grammy-Winning Artist KIRBY Headed to Baytown's Juneteenth Celebration
Baytown's Juneteenth Celebration will feature Grammy-winning artist KIRBY, a singer and songwriter known for writing hits for some of music's biggest names before launching her own recording career.
KIRBY has earned praise for blending soul, R&B, and Southern influences into music that tells personal and powerful stories. She will perform June 13 as part of Baytown's Juneteenth celebration.

A photographer visiting the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge captured a stunning series of images showing a bobcat leaping from the shoreline and grabbing a great blue heron in midair. The incredible sequence happened so quickly that the photographer didn't realize what he had photographed until later.
The photos are truly a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife capture.
