Protection for Birds, a Gift for You
Since 1970, we have lost 3 billion birds in North America. Birds like the Snowy Owl are at increasing risk of extinction due to climate change. Birds are vital to healthy ecosystems - and their decline affects us all.
With over a century of conservation expertise, the National Audubon Society knows what it takes to protect the birds we love. And with your support today, we can.
Join us in protecting birds with a dependable, annual gift and we’ll send you our quarterly, award-winning magazine every year as our thanks.
Good morning, Neighbors👋
Today is National School Nurse Day👩⚕️, and it’s a great time to give a little extra appreciation to the caring people who help students every single day. From scraped knees 🩹 and upset stomachs 🤢 to calming nerves and making sure kids are okay, school nurses do so much more than most people realize.
They’re often the friendly face students count on when they’re not feeling their best, and schools simply wouldn’t be the same without them.
If you know a school nurse, today’s a perfect day to say thank you for all they do. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Company Announces Major
Manufacturing Expansion in Baytown
Baytown’s industrial growth continues as PR Jindal Group has announced plans for a major manufacturing expansion that includes a new facility in Baytown.
According to information released in a recent press announcement, the company plans to invest $87 million into expanding operations in Baytown and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Part of that investment includes building a new steel pipe manufacturing facility next to the company’s existing Baytown operations.
The Baytown project is expected to create around 140 new jobs and expand the company’s ability to produce steel pipe used in the oil and natural gas industry.
The new facility will use advanced manufacturing technology and is designed to help strengthen the U.S. supply chain for energy infrastructure. Company officials say more than 90 percent of the steel used at the facility will come from U.S. sources.
Steel pipe produced at the Baytown site will be used in applications connected to the nation’s energy network, including oil and gas production and transportation.
Company leaders said the investment reflects long-term confidence in U.S. manufacturing and continued growth in the domestic energy market.
The project is another example of ongoing industrial investment in the Baytown area, which continues to attract manufacturing and energy-related development.

La Porte and Shoreacres Move Toward Becoming One Community
A historic change is underway after voters in both La Porte and Shoreacres approved a measure to bring the two neighboring communities together.
City leaders say the move is expected to help strengthen services, share resources, and support future growth for residents along Galveston Bay. Officials have also emphasized their commitment to maintaining the level of service residents currently receive while working through the transition process.
The vote marks a significant moment for the Bay Area region, bringing together two longtime neighboring communities with deep local ties and a shared future ahead.
