Baytown Site Chosen for
Next-Generation Battery Production

A new high-tech project could bring advanced manufacturing and jobs to Baytown, according to information shared in a recent press release.

J-Star Holding, a technology company, has partnered with another company called Patriot Green Energy Technology (PSSB) to build a new type of battery in the United States. These batteries are called solid-state batteries, and they are designed to be safer, lighter, and more powerful than traditional batteries.

The companies are planning to build a production facility in Baytown at the TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park. The goal is to create a fully automated factory that can produce large amounts of these batteries each year.

So, what are these batteries used for? The main focus is on drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which are used in areas like defense, delivery, and technology. As demand for drones continues to grow, so does the need for better and more reliable batteries.

According to the companies, the project could help create a stronger U.S.-based supply chain, meaning more products are made here instead of overseas. It could also help bring new jobs, training opportunities, and long-term investment to the area.

The project is still in the planning stages. The companies have applied for federal funding and are working with local economic development leaders to move forward.

If completed, the Baytown facility would use advanced equipment and technology to produce high-performance batteries and could become part of a rapidly growing industry.

While there is still more to be finalized, the project highlights Baytown’s continued role as a hub for industry and innovation along the Gulf Coast.

Truck Owners Take Note:
LINE-X Opens Nearby in La Porte

Around here, it’s no secret—this is truck country. And with trucks getting used day in and day out, from job sites to weekend projects, keeping them in good shape matters. One of the first places to take a beating? The truck bed.

That’s where companies like LINE-X come in. Known for their spray-on bed liners and protective coatings, LINE-X helps protect trucks from wear and tear, weather, and heavy use.

According to a recent press release, the company is continuing to grow across North America, adding new locations to meet demand for vehicle protection and customization services.

That growth now includes a new location closer to home, with a LINE-X shop recently opening in La Porte. For local truck owners, it means another nearby option to help protect and maintain their vehicles.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a bed liner or extra protection to your truck, this may be worth checking out.
