Good morning, Friends 🌞
After yesterday’s coffee cake, here we are again—back-to-back reasons to treat yourself. Today is National Empanada Day 🥟, and honestly, who’s complaining?
Seems like the universe is gently suggesting we slow down, enjoy something warm and delicious, and maybe not overthink it too much. Sweet, savory…fried or baked…there’s really no wrong choice here.
So the real question is—if you had one in front of you right now, what kind are you grabbing?

Lee College Employee Placed
on Leave Amid Ongoing Investigation
A Baytown man is facing criminal charges after investigators say he used artificial intelligence to create sexually explicit images that appeared to depict a minor.
According to a criminal complaint, the 30-year-old is charged with unlawful production or distribution of certain sexually explicit media. Investigators allege the images were created using screenshots from a social media account and digitally altered to produce explicit content.
The case was reported to authorities after the images were discovered on a phone. Officials say at least one adult also reported that her image was used without consent.
Records show the individual is connected to Lee College, where he is listed as a debate coach. The college confirmed he has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues and said it is cooperating with law enforcement.
Officials with Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District said the individual was not employed by the district but had contact with students through a college program.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Baytown Police Hosting Safe
Prescription Drug Take-Back Event
The Baytown Police Department is inviting the community to safely dispose of unused or expired medications later this month.
The free event will take place on Saturday, April 25th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Baytown Public Safety Building, located at 3200 N. Main St.
This initiative provides a safe, anonymous way to get rid of unwanted prescription drugs—no questions asked. Proper disposal helps prevent misuse and keeps medications from harming the environment.
Officials note that certain items cannot be accepted, including sharps, inhalers, and combustible materials.
Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to clean out medicine cabinets and dispose of medications the right way.

ExxonMobil Community Picnic
Set for May 2nd in Baytown
ExxonMobil is inviting the Baytown Area community out for a fun-filled afternoon at its upcoming Community Picnic.
The event will take place Saturday, May 2nd, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Bicentennial Park (213 Lee Dr.).
Families, friends, and neighbors are encouraged to come out and enjoy live music, a variety of food, games, and local vendors. The event is designed as a relaxed, come-and-go gathering where the community can connect and spend time together.
Organizers say the picnic is open to everyone, making it a great opportunity to enjoy a spring afternoon outdoors while supporting local vendors and activities.

Volunteers Needed for April
Cleanup Along Goose Creek Trail
Community members are invited to roll up their sleeves and help clean up the Goose Creek Trail throughout the month of April.
Volunteers can join efforts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Goose Creek Park to help pick up trash and improve the area along the trail. Supplies will be provided, making it easy for anyone to jump in and lend a hand.
Participants are encouraged to bring water in a refillable container, wear comfortable clothing, and come prepared with walking shoes.
The effort is part of a broader push to beautify the community through programs like Adopt-a-Spot, public art projects, and ongoing park maintenance. Volunteers may also assist with tasks such as weeding, spreading mulch, weatherizing wooden structures, and refreshing paint.
Help keep local parks clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
🗓️ 4-6 pm every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in April
📍 Meet at Goose Creek Park (3 Price St.)
