La Porte Drug Manufacturing
Facility Passes FDA Inspection

A pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in La Porte has successfully passed a recent inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

According to company officials, the SK pharmteco site was inspected from February 9–12, 2026. The FDA found no issues and gave the facility a “No Action Indicated” rating, meaning it meets the agency’s highest standards.

Many people may not realize that advanced drug manufacturing happens right here in our area. The La Porte facility produces key ingredients used in medicines and supports pharmaceutical supply chains.

SK pharmteco, as a company, specializes in small molecules, peptides, and viral vectors—advanced components used to help bring complex therapies to market.

During the inspection, FDA officials reviewed how products are made, tested, and tracked for safety and quality, along with equipment and lab operations.

Company leaders said the results reflect a strong focus on quality and reliability.

Jenkins Splash Park Alligator
Gets a Fresh New Look

A popular feature at Jenkins Splash Park has a fresh new look just in time for warmer weather. The alligator has been repainted and updated, including improvements to the slide, making it ready for more fun in the sun.

City crews recently completed the work as part of ongoing efforts to keep local parks safe, clean, and enjoyable for families.

Splash parks are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., giving residents plenty of time to cool off and enjoy the updated space.

Don’t forget! Party on the Peninsula is Saturday! [March 28th at the Baytown Nature Center.]

The event was created to shine a spotlight on local artists who call Baytown home, and this year’s lineup features hometown performer Ty Laramore, known for bringing energy to every show. He’ll be joined by local favorites Zydeco Jay & Creole Pressure, along with DJ Boris for a night full of music and entertainment.

Best of all, the event is free to attend, with free admission and free parking for everyone. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, bring friends, and enjoy the evening by the water.
