Two Arrested After Baytown
Police Bust Illegal Game Rooms

Baytown Police have shut down two illegal game rooms following recent investigations, leading to multiple arrests and the seizure of dozens of gambling machines.

On March 4, detectives executed a search warrant in the 4700 block of N. Highway 146, seizing 32 illegal gambling devices and arresting a 46-year-old male operator. A second warrant was served on March 16 in the 2700 block of N. Alexander Drive, where 47 machines were confiscated and a 42-year-old female operator was taken into custody.

Police say illegal game rooms are often hidden in strip centers or unmarked buildings and can pose serious risks to the community. These locations are frequently linked to violent crime, money laundering, and illegal drug activity, and are often targets for robberies due to limited security.

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity to Baytown Police’s non-emergency line [281-422-8371] to help keep the community safe.

Last Quiz: Which North American animal can run the longest distance at high speed without overheating?
Answer: C — Pronghorn antelope
The pronghorn is the second-fastest land animal in the world, capable of reaching about 55 mph. Unlike cheetahs, however, pronghorns can maintain high speeds for much longer distances, thanks to oversized lungs, heart, and windpipe.
