SH 146 Northbound Closure
Could Impact Your Weekend Plans!

🧳Spring Break travel plans on SH 146?
⛱️Planning a trip to Kemah or Galveston this weekend?
Drivers heading north on SH 146 near Red Bluff Road should be aware that the northbound lanes will be completely closed this weekend.
Drivers should plan ahead, expect delays, and consider alternate routes.
🗺️See the map below for details on the closure area.

Continuous total closure of SH 146 Northbound starting today [Friday, Mar. 6th @ 9 pm]
📍 Where: SH 146 NB Mainlanes, NB Port Rd Entrance Ramp, and NB Port Rd Direct Connectors (from Red Bluff Rd to Choate/Shoreacres Blvd).
⏰ When: Friday, March 6 (9 PM) – Monday, March 9 (5 AM).
🚗 Detour Info:
Exit Red Bluff Rd to the NB Frontage Road.
Turn left onto Port Rd (West) ➡️ Right onto Bay Area Blvd (North) ➡️ Right onto Choate Rd (East).
Re-enter the NB Mainlanes at the Shoreacres entrance ramp.

& Bingo Tonight

La Porte is hosting its First Friday Art Walk & Bingo, a great way to enjoy a spring evening with local art, community, and a little friendly competition.

Date: Tonight, Friday, March 6, 2026
Time: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Check-In: Five Points Plaza (100 S Broadway)
📍 Step 1: Check-In & Game On
Start your night at Five Points Plaza. This is where you’ll pick up your:
🗺️Art Walk Map: Your guide to the talent showcased inside businesses and along Main Street.
Bingo Card: Your ticket to winning the raffle!
Seagull Mini Mural Trail: Discover our famous mini murals created by local artist Whitney Hayden! Keep your eyes peeled for these hidden gems as you explore the walk.
🎶 Step 2: Enjoy the Vibes
While you check in or take a break, enjoy live music at Five Points Plaza from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Special Highlight: Don't miss a live painting demonstration by Adrian Avila right at Five Points Plaza! Watch a masterpiece come to life in real-time. 🖌️✨
🎨 Step 3: Play & Win
Check your Bingo card for fun activities hosted by our local businesses. Complete the tasks to get your squares stamped!

🚧 Road Closures
To keep our walkers safe, Broadway will be closed between A St. and Main St. from 5:00 PM to 9:15 PM.

Vacation Watch Available for
Unincorporated Harris County Residents 👀

For our readers who live in the unincorporated areas of Harris County — did you know the Harris County Sheriff’s Office offers a free Vacation Watch program? If you’re planning to travel for Spring Break, HCSO deputies can keep an extra eye on your home while you’re away.👀

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and his team encourage residents to take advantage of this service so you can enjoy a worry-free break knowing your property is being checked by patrol units.

This short video highlights the Vacation Watch program. Even though the video is about a year old, the tips and information are still just as helpful today.

Coffee With a Cop - Baytown PD

Coffee with a Cop on Monday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at Starbucks 4557 Garth Rd.

Have a cup of coffee and take a few minutes to get to know some of the Baytown Police Dept. Feel free to ask questions, share what’s going on in your neighborhood, or talk about any concerns you may have.

The conversations are casual, open, and informative; just good coffee and good conversation.
