Good morning, Neighbors.

Today happens to be National Cheese Doodle Day,🧀 which might be one of the more fun food holidays out there. Cheese doodles — whether you call them puffs, curls, or cheese balls — are famous for two things: being delicious and leaving your fingers that unmistakable bright orange color.

Here’s a fun twist… they were actually invented by accident, joining the same surprising club as popsicles, potato chips, and ice cream. Not a bad list to stumble into by mistake.

So here’s a question to start the day: are you a crunchy cheese curl person, a fluffy cheese puff fan, or do you go straight for the cheese balls?

However you like them, hope your Thursday starts off a little cheesy and a lot enjoyable.

Mont Belvieu Police Urge Drivers
to Choose a Sober Ride for Spring Break

The Mont Belvieu Police Department is reminding drivers to make safe choices as Spring Break begins across Texas.

Officials say March typically sees a rise in drunk driving crashes, making it one of the most dangerous months on the road. Police are encouraging drivers to plan ahead and arrange a sober ride before celebrating.

The reminder is part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s “Drive Sober – No Regrets” campaign, which promotes the message: Drive Like a Texan — Kind, Courteous, and Safe.

Authorities warn that driving impaired can lead to serious consequences, including fines up to $17,000, jail time, license suspension, or even deadly crashes.

Police say the message is simple: if you plan to drink, don’t drive. Plan a sober ride so everyone can enjoy a safe Spring Break.

Have a cup of coffee and take a few minutes to get to know some of the Baytown Police Dept. Feel free to ask questions, share what’s going on in your neighborhood, or talk about any concerns you may have.

The conversations are casual, open, and informative; just good coffee and good conversation.
