Good morning, Neighbors.👋

It’s amazing how quickly the week can get away from us. One minute it’s Monday morning, and the next thing you know we’re already staring down the back half of the week. Time has a funny way of reminding us not to rush through the days too fast.

So as you get going today, maybe take a moment to slow down just a bit. What’s one small thing you’re looking forward to before the week wraps up?

Hope you have a great day out there.

Crosby High Band Director
on Leave Amid Investigation

A Crosby High School band director is on administrative leave while authorities investigate allegations of an improper relationship with a student.

Kevin Knight was placed on leave on February 20 after Crosby ISD learned of the allegations from the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office. Investigators say the case involves a possible improper relationship between an educator and a student, which is a second-degree felony under Texas law.

Officials now believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The investigation began after a complaint was filed on February 20. Knight has worked for Crosby ISD since 2015.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Helgoth at 713-274-9739 and reference case number 2602-00460.

Baytown Hyatt Regency Records
First Million-Dollar Month

The Hyatt Regency Baytown–Houston Hotel and Convention Center has reached an important financial milestone, recording its first $1 million revenue month in December.

City leaders say the strong performance shows the hotel is gaining momentum as more visitors, conferences, and events come to Baytown.

City Manager Jason Reynolds noted that when the hotel first opened, officials expected it could take several years before the project began making money. Instead, he says the hotel is reaching that point faster than expected and is already outperforming early projections.

The hotel also reported a strong first quarter. Revenue per available room came in 8% above budget, while expenses were 11% below projections.

The project recently completed a clean financial audit as well. City officials say continued bookings and repeat visitors are helping build steady growth as more events choose Baytown.
