BPD K9 Unit Celebrates
Two Big Wins🐾
Two members of the Baytown Police Department’s K9 Unit were recognized for major accomplishments that took weeks of hard work, discipline, and dedication.
Officer Tanksley #142 has officially earned his role as a K9 handler and is now partnered with K9 Jafar. The duo completed intensive training focused on endurance, teamwork, and precision. K9 Jafar is now certified in narcotics detection, tracking, evidence recovery, and patrol duties.
K9 Officer Lambert #167 also reached an important milestone by completing a 240-hour K9 Instructor/Trainer course. The seven-week program focused on advanced training and evaluation skills, helping strengthen not only the current unit but future K9 teams as well.
These achievements don’t come easy—they’re earned through long days and serious commitment.
Congratulations to both officers on a job well done!
