Teen Shot During Argument
Outside Baytown Home

Authorities are searching for a suspect after a 19-year-old was shot last Tuesday afternoon outside his home at a mobile home park north of the Baytown Airport, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say several young people were arguing in the street around 12:50 p.m. when shots were fired.

A road crew witnessed the incident and called 911. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle headed north.

The teen was taken to the hospital, and no arrests have been announced.

Anyone with information is asked to call HCSO at 713-221-6000.

Constable’s Animal Cruelty Unit
Makes Arrest in Puppy Abuse Investigation

A 31-year-old Baytown man has been charged with felony animal cruelty after a critically injured shepherd-mix puppy was found beneath a couch in an apartment complex dumpster on Decker Drive.

Detectives with Harris County Constable Precinct One’s Animal Cruelty Unit, assisted by Baytown Police, made the arrest last Thursday. Authorities say the dog was intentionally injured.

The puppy was recovered Jan. 31st. with help from the Houston SPCA.

Officials urge anyone who sees animal cruelty to report it to the Houston SPCA at
713-869-7722.

Diaper-Laden Truck Erupts in Flames,
Shuts Down I-10 in Mont Belvieu

An 18-wheeler carrying a load of diapers caught fire overnight, forcing all westbound lanes of I-10 at FM 1409 to close around 12:30 a.m. yesterday, according to Mont Belvieu officials.

Crews with the Mont Belvieu Fire Department extinguished the blaze, and traffic reopened around 8 a.m.

Authorities have not yet said what caused the fire or whether there were any injuries.
