Heads Up: Driveway Widening
Project at Mont Belvieu Crossing

The City of Mont Belvieu wants residents and drivers to be aware that beginning this morning, the middle driveway into Mont Belvieu Crossing Shopping Center
(near H-E-B) will be closed for approximately three weeks for driveway widening. During construction, motorists are encouraged to use the entrances off Langston Blvd. or the driveway near the H-E-B gas station and to remain alert as traffic patterns change.

Note: This is not a City of Mont Belvieu project, but the City wanted to ensure the public is informed due to the heavy traffic in this area.

No Injuries Reported After
Early Morning House Fire in Baytown

The Baytown Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 400 block of North Gaillard just after 5 a.m. yesterday [Tues. Jan 27th], finding heavy fire on the second floor and initiating an aggressive fire attack and search.

The fire was contained to the building of origin, and no injuries were reported.

Police Investigating Fatal Incident
After Car Discovered in Bayou

A body was recovered Sunday after a vehicle was found submerged in a bayou near East James Street and Kilgore Road, according to the Baytown Police Department.

Police said the incident appears to be crash-related. The vehicle was located in the bayou, and authorities were able to recover the body later that day.

Multiple agencies responded and are assisting with the investigation, including Baytown Police Patrol Days A, Recon, and Dive Team, the Baytown Fire Department, and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and that additional information will be released when appropriate.
