Good morning Neighbors! With the cold weather settling in through the weekend and into Monday, 🥶we just wanted to check in and say we’re thinking about you and hoping it ends up being easier than the forecasts are calling for.
Take care, stay warm, and look out for one another where you can — we plan to be back with you Tuesday morning, and if power issues get in the way, we’ll be back as soon as we’re able.

What to Know and How to Prepare
From the Cities of Baytown,
Mont Belvieu, & La Porte🥶
With a winter storm expected to move in, today’s focus is on weather updates and practical information to help you plan ahead.
We’re also sharing helpful information and guidance from the cities of Baytown, Mont Belvieu, and La Porte.
Our hope is that having these local updates in one place makes it easier to stay informed, prepared, and safe over the next few days.

Winterize Your Vehicle:
✅ Check tires, battery, and fluids.
✅Test heater, defroster, and wipers.
✅Keep your fuel tank at least half full.
✅Pack an emergency kit with blankets, food, and water.
✅Stay Informed: Sign up for Baytown Alert: baytown.org/alert
🏠 Stay off the roads if conditions worsen.
City of Baytown Warming Shelters
The City of Baytown has been proactively preparing for this weekend’s winter weather. As part of those efforts, the City will open a warming center at the Baytown Community Center. The warming center is scheduled to open at noon Saturday and will remain open through the duration of the storm.

In advance of the weather, members of the Baytown Police Department have been distributing blankets to vulnerable residents and volunteers have been conducting outreach to assist those in need.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for Baytown Alert, a free notification service that provides weather and emergency information.

Stay Safe, While Staying Warm!
🔥Keep space heaters at least 3ft from anything that can burn
🔥Choose a heater with safety features
🔥Place the heater on a flat, stable surface
🔥Keep space heater out of the way of foot traffic
🔥Plug the space heater directly into a wall outlet, never an extension cord
🔥Turn space heaters off when you leave a room or go to bed
