Plan Ahead: NB Highway 146
Closed in La Porte All Weekend

The SH146 northbound main lanes will be closed continuously from 8:00pm Friday 1/9/26 to 5:00am Monday 1/12/26. This closure is to move concrete barriers and re-stripe the roadway as part of a new traffic pattern that will allow the existing northbound main lanes to be widened and reconstructed. Northbound traffic will be detoured off the freeway at Wharton Weems and will be able to re-enter after Spencer Hwy. Officers will be present to provide traffic control.

⚠️ As part of this new traffic pattern, the following ramps will be closed long-term while they are reconstructed:

🚧SH146 NB entrance ramp from Wharton Weems
🚧SH146 NB entrance ramp from Fairmont
🚧SH146 NB exit ramp to Spencer Hwy

TxDOT is coordinating to adjust the traffic signal timing at the intersection of SH146 and Fairmont Pkwy, if needed, to best accommodate the new traffic pattern.

Family Seeks Help Finding
Missing Baytown Teen

A Baytown family is asking for the public’s help in locating 15-year-old Madelyn Alvarado, who has been missing since January 6.

Madelyn is a freshman at Goose Creek Memorial High School. She was last seen wearing a white and black Affliction shirt, black leggings, a black hoodie, and a black beanie. She was also wearing black Crocs and carrying a black backpack with a large Nike logo.

Madelyn has short bangs and a black hoop nose piercing on the left side.

Anyone with information about Madelyn’s whereabouts is asked to come forward. Tips can be shared with local authorities or with her family.

$3 Million Lottery Ticket
Sold in Baytown

A Baytown resident is celebrating a big win after claiming a $3 million top prize on a Texas Lottery scratch-off ticket.

According to the Texas Lottery, the winning ticket came from the 30X Supreme scratch-off game. The $30 ticket was purchased at Time Maxx #6, located at 6199 Decker Drive in Baytown. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

The 30X Supreme game features more than $162.3 million in total prizes statewide. Texas Lottery officials report the overall odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 3.76, including break-even tickets.
