Advanced Plastic Conversion Facility
Abundia Global Impact Group is taking a major step toward building its new plastics-recycling facility in the Cedar Port Industrial Park in Baytown. The company has officially notified Alterra Energy to begin designing the technology system that will power the plant.
Alterraâs process turns discarded plastic into renewable fuels and chemical products. Their system runs continuously, uses no catalysts, and has already shown strong results at their existing commercial facility. It produces a stable, high-quality liquid product that fits Abundiaâs goal of converting waste into valuable, cleaner energy.
Abundia CEO Ed Gillespie said this milestone brings the company closer to developing its first commercial plant and advancing its mission to become a major producer of sustainable fuels. Alterraâs CEO added that partnering with Abundia supports their shared effort to create real solutions for plastic pollution.

Construction has officially started on the first commercial building inside Riceland Town Center, marking a major milestone for Mont Belvieuâs growing Riceland master-planned community.
The new building, called Millhouse, is a nearly 17,000-square-foot retail and office development by Houston-based McGrath Real Estate Partners. It will include ground-floor retail space with offices located on the second floor, making it the first commercial structure to rise in the town center area.
Riceland Town Center is designed to become a walkable gathering place with shops, restaurants, offices, public green space, and room for community eventsâsomething the city has not had since the 1980s.
The larger Riceland development will eventually include thousands of homes, miles of trails, stocked lakes, parks, and recreation areas, all connected to the town center. Several homebuilders are already active, and residential construction continues to move forward in multiple phases of the project.
