La Porte Launches Major Sidewalk and Mobility Upgrades🚶‍♀️

Happy Friday, Friends. Whether your week was smooth, bumpy, or a messy mix of both, you’re here — and that’s something worth celebrating.
Fridays always carry a little extra lightness, like the world collectively loosens its shoulders just a bit. Maybe today holds a small treat: a favorite lunch, a good conversation, or simply a slow drive home with the windows cracked open. Whatever your plans, we hope your Friday brings a moment that makes you smile without even thinking about it. 😀

La Porte Launches Major
Sidewalk and Mobility Upgrades

The City of La Porte is moving forward with a major mobility project that will add new sidewalks, upgraded crosswalks, ADA-accessible ramps, and improved pedestrian access along key routes beginning in Fall 2026.

Work at the Recreation & Fitness Center is set to begin next month, bringing the first round of sidewalk upgrades to the area. City officials say these improvements will make it easier and safer for residents to reach neighborhoods, parks, transit stops, and community facilities.

Reminder: Peak Time for
Home Cooking Fires Is Here

Winter is the worst time of year for home fires, especially in December and during major holidays. It’s also when home cooking fires peak — a good reminder to stay mindful in the kitchen as things get busy.

Simple habits like staying near the stove and keeping flammable items away from heat can make a big difference.

We’re sharing a cute YouTube video below as a lighthearted way to help keep safety top of mind this season.
