JSW Steel Unifies Baytown and Ohio Operations Under Single U.S. Structure

Global steel producer JSW Steel is reorganizing its U.S. operations as part of a major effort to simplify its business structure and improve efficiency.

The company, which operates a large plate and pipe mill in Baytown, announced that it will merge several related companies and place all of its American businesses under one main holding company. This move is designed to reduce red tape, streamline management, and make its operations run more smoothly.

JSW’s Baytown facility—along with coking coal assets in West Virginia—is owned through Periama Holdings LLC, a U.S. subsidiary of JSW Steel (Netherlands) B.V. Its Ohio steel operations are housed under another group, Acero Junction Holdings Inc.

By combining these under one umbrella, JSW says it can simplify compliance, lower administrative costs, and strengthen coordination between the Baytown and Ohio plants.

Company leaders said the plan was approved at a recent board meeting as part of JSW’s ongoing effort to build a more agile and efficient global organization. The reorganization will also merge three Indian subsidiaries to create a cleaner, more unified corporate structure.

The Baytown site—part of the world’s fourth-largest steel company—plays a key role in JSW’s U.S. growth strategy. The facility produces plate and pipe used in major energy and infrastructure projects, supporting both domestic and international demand.

According to the company, the changes are expected to improve financial performance and help JSW Steel’s U.S. operations work together as one cohesive unit.

Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center Completes Major Facility Upgrades

Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center recently marked the completion of major renovations that enhance both patient care and staff workspaces. The hospital recently celebrated the project’s ribbon cutting alongside construction partner F.H. Paschen, whose team helped deliver the upgrades ahead of schedule.

The improvements focused on several key areas, including a newly redesigned central nurses’ station, a renovated medicine room and physician’s office, and an additional patient room created from previously unused space. The modernized nurses’ station serves as the hospital’s main hub for both the Emergency Room and Inpatient Unit—making the upgrades especially important for daily operations and patient flow.

While the overall footprint remained the same, the project introduced new flooring, walls, ceilings, doors, and surfaces, along with technology enhancements such as an upgraded nurse call system and improved infrastructure.

Construction wrapped up in just eight weeks—finishing ahead of schedule—with F.H. Paschen providing full support from planning through completion.

Memorial Hermann Expanding
Into Mont Belvieu

Memorial Hermann Health System is expanding its presence east of Houston with plans for a new medical facility in Mont Belvieu. The project will bring a modern healthcare building designed to offer outpatient and specialty services closer to residents of Chambers County and surrounding communities.

The upcoming development will be located along Interstate 10 and is part of Memorial Hermann’s broader effort to reach fast-growing suburban areas. Construction is expected to begin soon, with the facility anticipated to open in 2026.

This marks the health system’s first major footprint in the Mont Belvieu area and reflects the region’s continued population growth and demand for accessible, high-quality care.

Chinese Battery Firm to Build $100M Manufacturing Plant In Cedar Port

A Chinese battery materials company plans to invest more than $100 million to build a new manufacturing facility in the TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park.

Tinci Materials Texas LLC, a subsidiary of Guangzhou Tinci Materials Technology Co. Ltd., filed plans with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for a 43,358-square-foot project at 2700 FM 1405.

The development—listed as Project Lion—will include an electrolyte production facility, warehouse space, an office and lab building, loading and unloading stations, a tank farm, and guard houses, according to the filing.

Construction is expected to begin in March 2026 and wrap up by March 2027, though TDLR notes that timelines are preliminary and subject to change.

Located on more than 15,000 acres, TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park is one of the largest master-planned industrial parks in the United States. It currently boasts over 25 million square feet of industrial and manufacturing space. Major tenants include Niagara Bottling, Floor & DĂ©cor, and IKEA—whose two warehouses were purchased last year by Atlanta-based MDH Partners.

The new Tinci facility marks another major investment in the growing Baytown-area industrial corridor, continuing the region’s expansion as a key hub for advanced manufacturing and logistics.

Worley Secures ExxonMobil
Contract for Major Baytown
Complex Reconfiguration

ExxonMobil has awarded a major construction contract to Worley Limited for a large-scale reconfiguration and upgrade project at its 584,000-barrel-per-day integrated refining and petrochemical complex in Baytown.

Announced Oct. 16th, the project will focus on modernizing infrastructure and installing new processing technologies to increase the site’s production of higher-value products, including Group III base stocks and distillates such as diesel.

Worley’s U.S.-based team will provide construction services that include infrastructure modifications, new equipment installation, and integration of advanced processing systems. The upgrades are expected to be completed and fully operational by 2028.

According to filings and company statements, the reconfiguration supports ExxonMobil’s strategic goal of shifting production away from gasoline toward higher-demand, higher-value products as global energy markets evolve.

“This contract sees us providing innovative solutions and construction support over 24 months that will enhance the efficiency and resilience of our customers’ assets,” said Chris Ashton, CEO of Worley. “Our work supports customers’ needs across sustainable, transitional, and traditional projects as they continue to meet the increasing demands for energy.”

The Baytown complex—one of the largest integrated refining and petrochemical facilities in the world—has been a cornerstone of ExxonMobil’s U.S. operations for decades. The upcoming reconfiguration aims to further improve operational efficiency, product flexibility, and sustainability performance at the site.
