🚸 School’s Back —
Let’s Keep Kids Safe!
Reminder from the Baytown Police Department
When a school bus has flashing red lights, you must stop — and stay stopped until the lights turn off, the driver signals you, or the bus starts moving. The only exceptions are if there’s a physical barrier or a median separating you from the bus. On roads with just a left-turn lane in the middle, you still have to stop.
💰 Passing a stopped school bus illegally can cost up to $1,250 in fines and lead to license suspension for repeat offenses. If someone is seriously injured, you could face criminal charges.
Please refer to the image below as a reminder of traffic rules regarding school buses. Let’s all do our part to protect students this school year. 🚌💛

Keeping La Porte’s K9 ChoirBoy
Cool, Safe, and Ready to Serve
A big thank-you to Sulzer for their generous contribution toward installing a K9 Heat Alarm & Alert System in the La Porte Police Department’s K9 patrol vehicle — helping keep their beloved K9 ChoirBoy safe on duty!
This life-saving system is designed for high-heat environments and:
• Monitors interior vehicle temperature & battery voltage
• Alerts handlers by text, voice, and landline before danger strikes
• Activates alarms, drops windows, and powers fans if unsafe conditions occur
• Features a 10-inch fan to circulate A/C and remove hot air quickly
Thanks to Sulzer’s support, ChoirBoy can serve the La Porte community with an extra layer of protection.
Safety Reminder: Hot cars can be deadly. Before you lock up, check the back seat for kids and pets — even a few minutes can be dangerous in Texas heat.
Let’s protect every life.

🧠 Trivia is back… the old-school way (for now)!
We know—we said a new and improved trivia was coming. Then we ran into some “technical difficulties” (aka: the software got stage fright). 😅
While we sort that out, we’re bringing back the classic version you know and love. Thanks for sticking with us!
