Baytown Teen Sentenced to
30 Years for Fatal Shooting
in Beaumont
A Baytown teenager has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Linny Nixon. Trevor Green, 17, received the sentence from Judge Raquel West after entering a guilty plea in connection with the April 2024 incident.
The deadly shooting occurred at the Landmark Apartments on French Road in Beaumont, just after 5:45 p.m. on April 28. Emergency responders arrived to find Nixon suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Investigators determined that Green used Nixon’s own firearm during the shooting, which was part of a planned effort to steal the weapon. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office emphasized the broader issue of youth violence in the community, noting the disturbing pattern of gun-related crimes involving teenagers.
Green will be eligible for parole after serving half of his 30-year sentence.

Baytown’s Lakes at Madera
Bought by 3 Points Realty Partners
3 Points Realty Partners, a New Jersey-based real estate investment firm, has purchased Lakes at Madera, a 392-unit multifamily community in Baytown. The acquisition was supported by a $19 million permanent loan from BridgeInvest, with the financing set to mature in 2027.
Previously owned by Grow Wealth 2 Retire, the property changed hands after two years under that ownership. The community, originally built in 1984, is located at 305 West Baker Road and spans 10 acres. It features 22 two-story buildings with a mix of one- to three-bedroom units ranging from 504 to 1,130 square feet.
Residents have access to a range of amenities, including a fitness center, two swimming pools, a clubhouse, tennis and basketball courts, and surface parking with space for approximately 450 vehicles.
