End of Watch:
K9 Hamilton
K9 Hamilton, affectionately known as Hammy, was a skilled bloodhound who proudly served the Baytown Police Department since February of 2018. At 7 years old, Hammy became a familiar and beloved presence within both our department and the Baytown community. He began his career partnered with K9 Officer Lambert, and in 2020, Officer Grant became his handler and partner. Since then, Hammy captured the hearts of many and consistently went above and beyond in service to others.
On May 8th, after showing signs of illness, Hammy was taken to the vet, where he was diagnosed with advanced heart cancer. The prognosis was difficult, and to prevent him from experiencing unnecessary pain, the decision was made to let him go peacefully. Surrounded by love and care, Hammy was laid to rest Friday, May 9th.
Remarkably, just two days before, on May 7th, Hammy was still doing what he did best—serving his community. That evening, he played a critical role in locating a missing elderly man with dementia. Thanks to Hammy’s determination, the man was found alive in a muddy ditch and safely reunited with his family. It was a testament to Hammy’s dedication to public safety and the impact he made every time he was called to serve.
Hammy was more than a working dog—he was family. His service, loyalty, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered. K9 Hamilton was a hero, and we will honor his memory and service to our community.
Please keep K9 Officer Grant, his family, our K9 unit, and our department in your thoughts during this difficult time. The bond between a handler and his K9 is unlike any other—built on trust, shared purpose, and countless hours spent side by side. It is a connection that leaves a lasting imprint on the heart. Rest easy, Hammy. You served with heart, and you will always be part of ours. You will be truly missed.💙🐾

Hazardous Waste Round-Up:
Let’s Clean It Up, Baytown! ♻️🧪
Mark your calendars, Baytown! This Saturday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, it's time to declutter responsibly at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day, happening at 1200 Lee Drive and Riggs Street. Gather up those lingering cans of paint, old tires (limit of 4 per vehicle), gasoline🛢️ , pesticides, motor oil, and other hazardous items like antifreeze, household cleaners, pool chemicals 🧪, car batteries, and even that ancient lawn fertilizer.
Why participate? Beyond reclaiming precious garage space, you're taking a stand for environmental safety and community health. Proper disposal prevents harmful substances from contaminating our soil and water, ensuring a cleaner, greener Baytown for all. Plus, it's a free service exclusively for Baytown residents—just bring proof of address. Remember, for everyone's safety, remain in your vehicle during drop-off, and let the professionals handle the rest.
So, let's turn hazardous clutter into safe disposal. Your home (and the planet🌎 ) will thank you!♻️

How It Works:
>Download the App: Available on both the App Store and Google Play.
>Choose a Mission: Missions are location-based and can be found in various parks, museums, and educational sites across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
>Complete Challenges: Each mission comprises interactive challenges, such as AR Pickers, Image 50/50, Sound Matchers, and more. Completing these challenges earns you points and rewards.
>Play Anywhere: Some missions, like those in the Mission Conservation series, can be played from home, making it accessible even if there's no mission nearby.
